A large pale full moon fills the dark background. In front of it stands the Statue of Liberty, torch raised, flanked by the New York City skyline, the whole scene rising out of rolling green-and-yellow smoke that drips off the bottom edge. NYC DIESEL sits across the lower third in plain white capitals.

No fruit. No candy. No colour trick. It is the most monumental pack Presidential prints and the only one built around a landmark.

A place name that means something now

New York is one of Presidential's markets. That was not true when the brand started in Los Angeles in 2012, and it is not incidental to this pack — a strain named for a city, sold in that city, through licensed retailers there.

Presidential is currently active across six state markets with two more opening, and the geography shows up across the catalogue. Nature's Chemistry, the partner on Garlic Cookies and Ghost Train Haze, prints LAS VEGAS, NEVADA on the pack. Trendi, the partner on Cap Junky and Orange Push Pop, is powered by Planet 13. Iced Lemon, Guava Haze and Tropicana Cookies carry Michigan regulatory markings. The line is not made in one place and shipped everywhere.

The build

Flower as the base. Live resin as the coat. Diamonds as the finish — the crystalline outer layer that gives a Presidential Moon Rock its density. Three stages, applied in sequence, through the Presidential Infusion System.

Mini Prerolls at 3 × 0.5 grams, 1.5 grams total. The build does not change between them — only the size and the number in the pack, which the crescent numeral on the front tells you at a glance.

The darker half of the catalogue

Presidential's artwork splits roughly in two.

There are the bright packs, built on colour and sugar — Papaya Punch, Rainbow Belts, Cherry Gelato, Blue Raspberry. And there are the dark ones, built on scale and atmosphere, usually with a moon somewhere in the frame: NYC Diesel, King Louis, Ghost Train Haze with its locomotive, Cap Junky with its saguaro and black liquid, Garlic Cookies with chrome bulbs in acid-green smoke.

NYC Diesel is the largest-feeling of them. It is the only pack that uses a monument rather than an object, and at that scale the moon behind Liberty reads as a skyline element rather than a backdrop.
